The origin of the Angora is Turkey. Its name comes from the city of Angora (today Ankara). There, the white specimens, named Ankara kedi, are considered a traditional symbol of purity. For the Turkish people, they are true national treasures.
Traits
It has a thin, muscular body; the hind legs are higher than the front ones. The tail has a lot of hair and is usually low in respect to the body. It also has a wide root, though it ends in a fine point.
It has a small head and a sharply pointed nose. The ears are large and soft, situated rather highly and lightly pointed. The eyes are also big, oval and somewhat oblique.

Character
The Turkish Angora is an intelligent, active, faithful and caring cat. It is a cat that needs a lot of love and affection. It is a cat that likes water. Its character is lively and extroverted.
It has a very independent character and it prefers to live with one person (although it accepts other family members). For this reason, it is very common for it to have one favorite in the family, to whom it demonstrates its affection, rubbing itself on their legs.
It maintains the hunting instinct and it loves to climb. In these situations, it demonstrates its agility with smooth and precise movements.
