Siamese cats usually held a very important role in the funerals of kings in Thailand in centuries past. They were placed inside the tomb and when they escaped through a hole (made for that purpose), it was said that the soul of the monarch had entered the cat, so that the late kings could witness their successor's taking over.
Physical Traits
The Siamese is medium-sized. Its body is long and slender. Its legs are long and thin, though the hind legs are slightly higher than the front legs. The tail is long and thins up to the tip.
The head is long and well-proportioned. It is a cat with straight, big ears, wide at the base. The eyes are almond-shaped, slanted, widely spaced and always a very intense blue color.
A Siamese cat's fur is always short, shiny and very smooth.
Character
It is a very sensitive cat, also very nervous. It has a big personality: in addition to its boundless humor, it is rather jealous and demanding. Its meow is characteristic of the breed as it is very hoarse.
Care
This breed is prone to mental disorders if the cat is not treated properly.
Combing this breed depends on the cat's physical characteristics: if it is short haired, it does not demand excessive care. Weekly brushing will be more than sufficient. However, if it is a long haired cat, it needs exhaustive brushing every 2 or 3 days.
A cat's diet is carnivorous, and should be composed of a high percentage of proteins. But take care with the state of its food bowl, it will not feel comfortable if there is some type of smell or strange aroma emanating.
