The first specimen of the Balinese cat appeared in the United States at the end of the 40s. Its birth was attributed to a cross between two Siamese carriers of the long hair gene, probably inherited from their Angora ancestor.
Other specialists say that this breed is the result of a direct cross between a Siamese and an Angora.
Traits
The Balinese is a cat with a long body and usually has good musculature. Its extremities are thin, with its hind legs higher than its front ones. Its fur is long and fine like silk.
It has a large head, with a flat cranium, long nose, and wide ears ending in a point. Its almond-shaped eyes and long and its fine tail gives it a distinguished and mysterious look.

Character
The Balinese cat is a breed that is very loyal to its owners. If it shows a lot of care to one member of the family, it probably shows indifference to all the rest. It really enjoys fresh air. It is an expressive, agreeable, and social cat, a good cat for a household. But it is also a bit jealous and egocentric, which makes living with other cats impossible, except for in very isolated cases.
Its agile movements also stand out. It is an excellent climber and scaler.
Care
One of the fundamental elements of caring for a Balinese cat is brushing: at least once a week, as their fur has the tendency to form knots and tangles. During shedding season, comb their hair once a day.
